Eureka Seven

Renton Thurston dreams of becoming a famous Lifter just like his idol Holland. In this world, effects from mysterious currents called Trapar Waves allow Lifters to ride them with the aid of Ref Boards as if they were surfing on the ocean. Unfortunately for Renton, after his father and sister disappeared, he is stuck living with his grandpa in a boring town where nothing ever happens . His mundane life is about to come to an end when a LFO from the rebelling Gekkostate crashes into their home and puts him in conflict with government forces trying to cover up a dark secret.

Renton has joined Gekkostate in order to be with Eureka, but he soon learns that life aboard Gekko is very similar to his previous life in Bellforest, at least before Gekkostate takes on a particular job in order to earn some desperately needed cash. Meanwhile within the United Federation military, the Council of Sages agrees to reinstate Dewey Novak, a retired officer with ties to Adrock Thurston.

Eureka and Anemone have been wounded as a result of the Coralian's disappearance. Renton and Dominic are forced to travel together to the nearest town to get some medication for the two of them. When they return, they find themselves in the midst of a battle between the LFOs of the Gekkostate and KLFs from Izumo.

The entire Gekko is caught up in a health fad and has dispatched Renton, Eureka, and Matthieu to Controlad on a quest to collect a specific fruit. They find the prices in town to be too high, so they decide to pick some up "in the wild." This gets them into trouble with a local farmer, Yucatan Iglasias, who turns out to be Renton's uncle. The situation soon spirals out of control when Renton lies to him about being in the military.

In the aftermath of the fighting at South Ailess, the Gekko lands in FAC-51, an abandoned mine, to undergo emergency repairs. Ever since Renton piloted the Nirvash to rescue her and Matthieu from the military, Eureka has been very quiet around him. While trying to find a way to get through to her, Renton is sent out into the mine with the rest of the crew to locate supplies for repairing the ship. When he is separated from the group, he encounters a mysterious house that definitely shouldn't be found in an abandoned mine.

To repair the damage from South Ailess, the Gekko needs a large amount of reflection film, so Ken-Goh, Moondoggie, Hap, Matthieu, Stoner, and Renton go to a local workshop owned by an old friend. They arrive only to find the shop owners drunken son Neil, completely unwilling to take any new orders. Ken-Goh convinces him in his own special way and they depart in search of Sky Fish, a vital component in reflection film.

Renton encounters a miner who is still clings to hope in finding treasure within FAC-51 while waiting for the Gekko's repairs to be completed. Renton finally gets through to the gruff old miner when they discover a shared interest. The miner, on the other hand, is desperate for a big score, and he sees the Nirvash typeZERO as the biggest score of all – even if it means stealing it from its current owners.

Eureka's condition continues to deteriorate and when she climbs into the Nirvash to remove the Compac Drive, it activates all on its own. Renton pursues her deep into the mines while the military learns of their location and begins an all out bombardment on FAC-51 in an attempt to bury them within the mountain.

The rite to extract the remains of the Scub from Eureka's body is performed by the Vodarac priest that Holland rescued. Renton wanders aimlessly after leaving the Gekko, while the Gekkostate members debate how to inform Eureka about his departure.
